Hawks Make #4 ACU Earn Every Point

EL CAJON, Calif. – The competition is notably tough in the Golden State Athletic Conference. Especially when week-to-week a team must regularly do battle against nationally ranked teams. Facing the #4 ranked team in the country, the San Diego Christian College Hawks fought tooth and nail but came up just short against the Arizona Christian University Firestorm losing 67-85 on Thursday.

The Hawks hung tough for most of the game and were only down by 4 points midway through the second half. Three Hawks were in double-digit scoring. Led by Greg Chew (19), followed close behind by Jonah Felix (17) and Ryan Blackmon (12), SDCC made ACU earn every point and every rebound. The Firestorm by no means had an easy evening.

Greg Chew Even among the best the conference has to offer, SDCC's Greg Chew is arguably one of the conference's top five players. The senior forward has consistently turned in outstanding performances in all aspects of the game against every team the Hawks have faced. Thursday evening was no different. Continually double-teamed throughout the evening, he was still able to log his TENTH double-double of the season. Chew scored 19 points and pulled in 10 boards and was able to score from every spot on the court. In addition to that amazing count, he had 5 assists and 6 steals.
