Three VU First-Half Goals Seal SDCC’s Fate

TEMECULA, Calif. – The San Diego Christian College Hawks were not able to recover from three first-half goals in Saturday's Golden State Athletic Conference opener against the Vanguard University Lions at Galway Downs. The Hawks would end up falling to the visiting Lions by a score of 1-3. The loss moves SDCC's record to 3-4-3 on the season and 0-1 in the Golden State Athletic Conference.

A barrage of fifteen Vanguard shots in the first half led to three unanswered Lion goals that ultimately determined the final outcome.

The Hawks would slow Vanguard's pace down in the second half limiting the side to only two additional shots, but SDCC could only manage three of their own. San Diego Christian's, Francois Ekyoci would give his team a consolation goal in the last ten minutes of the game. Ekyoci would place a perfectly weighted pass from Gael Ruiz into the back of the Vanguard net to take away the visitor's clean sheet.
