TEMECULA, Calif. – Two early second-half goals by The Master's University Mustangs handed the San Diego Christian College Hawks an 0-2 defeat on a hot day in Temecula. The loss moves the Hawk record to 1-4-1 in the GSAC (4-7-4 overall) and makes the final three games of the season must-wins for SDCC to earn a playoff spot.
The 0-0 scoreline at the half was indicative of the evenly matched teams. The Hawks and Mustangs traded shots and possession without any one team dominating.
Early in the second half, the tide shifted in favor of TMU. Two quick goals by the Mustangs put the Hawks on the back foot. SDCC would spend the remainder of the half in search of a goal that never came.
