Jamee Joseph Posts Double-Double in Win over Montana Northern

CHANDLER, Ariz. – The San Diego Christian College Hawks will head into the Christmas break on a positive note after taking down the Montana State-Northern Skylights 62-51 in their final game of the Cactus Classic Basketball tourney.

The first quarter was a battle of streaks. The Hawks would be the first to tally multiple baskets jumping out to a quick 5-0 lead on a jumper from Cynnadie Whatley and a 3-pointer by Haylie Anderson. The Skylights would then go on post 7 unanswered points, followed by five more unanswered from SDCC.

The next two quarters would continue the back and forth between these two evenly-matched teams. SDCC's Jamee Joseph contributed 7 of her 11 total points in the third quarter to knot the score at 45 setting up an exciting run to the finish. The senior forward posted her first double-double of the season also hauling in 12 rebounds.

Unfortunately for Montana Northern, San Diego Christian College saved its best for last. An evenly matched affair most of the way, SDCC turned on the afterburners and torched the Skylights 17-6 in the fourth quarter cruising to a comfortable victory. Haylie Anderson led the Hawks in scoring with 12, but down the stretch, it was senior Keren Hogue who helped ice the game, scoring all 8 of her points in the final period.
