TEMECULA, Calif. – With playoff implications for both teams, the San Diego Christian College Hawks played to a 1-1 draw with the Master's University Mustangs in Thursday's GSAC battle.
The Hawks struck early when SDCC forward, Brianna Figueroa's cross found the foot of Isabella Coronado six minutes into the match. Coronado drove the perfect pass into the back of the net and it looked like it would be San Diego Christian's day.
Karla Garcia would force a TMU save three minutes late and Ashlyn Edwards hit the post with a low, hard shot five minutes after that.
The Coronado goal would account for all of the Hawk scoring, however.
After an SDCC foul in the penalty area in the 55th minute, TMU converted to pull even. The game would finish knotted at one apiece with neither team leaving with an edge for the final playoff position.
