LA MESA, Calif. – The SDCC Hawks women's volleyball team opened Golden State Athletic Conference play on Friday evening with a straight-set loss to the visiting Menlo College Oaks.
In the opening set, the Hawks remained within striking distance of the Oaks until midway through. From there, Menlo would ride a 12-6 run to take the set 25-15.
SDCC would take the first three points of set two and battle point for point with Menlo. With the score even at 11-11, the Oaks would take charge once again and capture the set 25-17.
San Diego Christian would show their spirit and jump out to a 15-11 lead in the third. Eight straight points by the Oaks would put them in the lead for good. The Hawks would continue to fight but Menlo would close them out with a 25-21 set win to take the match.
